It was a team effort, but Western Bulldogs young gun Jamarra Ugle-Hagan was instrumental in his side’s hard-fought win over the Sydney Swans.
The Dogs got off to a great start in the match, thanks in part to the impressive play of Ugle-Hagan. The 19-year-old kicked the first goal of the game and kept pressure on the Swans defense throughout, making four tackles and finishing with seven disposals.

While he didn’t put up eye-popping numbers or steal the show, it was clear that every time Ugle-Hagan touched the ball and put pressure on the opposition, positive things happened for his team.
The Bulldogs were wasteful all night, but held off several Swans runs in the second half to finish 9. 17. (71) to 9. 6. (60) winners at Marvel Stadium.
“This is just a great start for us as we move into next week,” said Ugle-Hagan after the match. “We’re going to keep grinding and get better every time we take to the field.”
