Islanders Loan Defenseman Thomas Hickey To Ontario Reign
Hey Ontario Reign fans!
We’ve got some exciting news for you. We’re welcoming defenseman Thomas Hickey to the team on loan from the NHL’s New York Islanders!
In case you were wondering, this isn’t Hickey’s first rodeo with our organization. He was drafted by the LA Kings in 2007, and he began his pro career playing for our affiliate team, the Manchester Monarchs, where he played in 212 games and earned 75 points on 14 goals and 61 assists. And while he’s been playing for New York in the NHL since 2013, he still has a special place in his heart for us here at Ontario: “I’m really excited to rejoin this organization,” Hickey said. “Throughout my whole career, they’ve always treated me well. I’m looking forward to helping this team out any way I can.”
Hickey’s played in 456 NHL games with the Islanders and has racked up 117 points on 22 goals and 95 assists—a track record that we know will translate into success on our side of the bench. We can’t wait for you to see how he makes us even stronger when we hit the ice.
